GRUNT Ambassador - Merv Hughes

The face of GRUNT needed to be someone who embodies both toughness and a sense of humour and they don’t come any tougher or funnier than Merv - a much loved Aussie cricket icon.
Creating a Brand - For Tradies Our brief was to create a brand for rope to be sold in the Hardware channel. Rope is a category which lacks in personality and so the opportunity was to create a hardware brand which could add personality to any product and help to open the way for a broader product range. Australian Tradies are famous for both their work ethic and sense of humour so we created a brand concept and name that encompassed both of these attributes. GRUNT is now a national brand in building products and a leader in the rope category across Australia.

GRUNT Advertising - Builders Film

Tradies love sport and our ability to use Merv to link GRUNT products with sport has proven a real boon. In this case Builders Film - commonly used to protect the underside of concrete slabs, becomes a cricket pitch.

GRUNT Advertising - Rubble Bags

Limber up before you lift (or bowl in Merv’s case) was the idea behind this Bay 13 inspired Ad. GRUNT Rubble Bags can carry bricks or builders scrap without breaking - as tough as they come!
