Sherlock - Brand Guidelines

Once we had completed the Brand Planning work for Sherlock the next step was to translate that positioning into an identifiable and ownable brand personality. We designed every element of the brand communication from brand spokesperson ‘Tradie Joe’, to retail packaging, advertising and web design, then captured that work in a comprehensive Brand StyleGuide. Key Sherlock product is positioned as ‘Toughest in its Class”.

Sherlock Spare Parts - Packaging

In a crowded hardware store shelf standout and organisation of technical information on pack, are critical in enabling customers to find and correctly identify the spare part they need. Couple that with strong branding and personality elements and the pack becomes a brand asset which delivers a great brand experience.

Sherlock Wheelbarrow Labels

Visually wheelbarrows are all very similar. Technically there are significant differences between products, the most meaningful being changes in the quality and strength of materials used to make the stays, handles and trays. Our label designs for Sherlock communicate product specs clearly allowing a choice to be made based on characteristics that suit the job to be done.

Even though it is a famous 30+ year old brand Sherlock did not have a website. In order to enable customers and potential customers to understand the brand, identify the product or part they needed, a website offered real added value. Now the Sherlock website is a hub for customer interaction and a powerful way of communicating and promoting what the Sherlock brand stands for.
